We are working hard on podlinez and have made many improvements. New numbers are now available. We've added another 300 numbers to the system
-Michael Sharp

12.10.06

We've freed up about sixty phone numbers by removing podcasts that have never received a phone call.

11.27.06

We've added a new button you can include on your podcast homepage, linking users to your phone number on Podlinez:

Listen By Phone
podlinez.net

To grab your own button, just enter your podcast feed URL on our homepage. You'll get an HTML snippet to paste into your website and instructions on how to use it.

Why not just display your phone number directly? While we try not to move phone numbers around, there are a few reasons your Podlinez number might change:

  1. If no one calls your podcast for 14 days, its phone number will get thrown back into the free pool (email us if you need an exemption).

  2. If we notice that we have duplicate feeds for your podcast, we'll consolidate them under one number.

  3. There's always a chance something unforseen could happen with our telco requiring us to change to a different block of phone numbers.

Of course, we'll do everything we can not to move people from the number they've been assigned. If you use the button, however, your listeners are guaranteed to always get a working number.

11.21.06

We've added a new block of phone numbers, so you should again be able to add podcast feeds to the system.

11.18.06

We've freed up some numbers by reassigning some duplicate feeds to a single number. If your Podlinez phone number suddenly stopped working, go look up the feed URL on the homepage to see if this affected you.

11.07.06

Podlinez launches! Enjoy the service and let us know when you find glitches.
